The plan for the day was to wander, with a purpose.
I was in Palmdale for a wedding I shot the weekend before last, and one of my favorite people ever (Leah) was a Bridesmaid, so we decided to plan an adventure for the next day. All we knew was that we were headed to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, and whatever else happened that day would be a welcome surprise. It ended up being such a refreshing day; just what I needed- a long drive with the windows down and the music up, and wide open spaces. It was the kind of day where you feel like you can breathe again. I didn’t know what time it was, I didn’t have to be somewhere by a certain time, and we were free to just roam the countryside.
I wasn’t necessarily planning to shoot very much, but when you put a photographer in a beautiful setting, with a lovely friend…
I think that day will forever be in my “favorite days” category. It was so need, so refreshing, so beautiful and free.
{ We also stopped in a pretty awesome antique shop, but I only brought my phone in, so follow me on Instagram if you’d like! }

Absolutely stunning in every way!
Thanks Christina! I miss you <3
Paloma. You need to frame those photos of you. Beautiful…
Aww, thank you! Although, maybe it’s creepy to frame photos of myself? haha.
